THURSDAY
W.O.W. Evening Virtual Sister option
“W.O.W.” - Women of Wisdom:
Thursday Evenings, 7:00pm – 8:00pm
September 11th - April 30th
W.O.W. (Women of Wisdom) is sound Bible study, aimed directly at Biblical literacy.
Daily lessons for personal study begin the excavation of the depth of God’s Word.
A sister option of Wednesday’s Women of Wisdom, this Thursday evening option will be a weekly Zoom video conference for virtual discussion as a small group that tracks with the W.O.W. Wednesday morning curriculum of Jonah, Nahum and Acts! A link to the audio recording of each Wednesday’s lecture allows participants to get the whole package.
God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, the most wicked Assyrian city of the day, to preach a message. God also called the apostles of Acts to preach the gospel among haters - by the power of the Holy Spirit – a first. Maybe God called YOU to study His Word with us and tell others of Him. Join us as we start in the OT, looking into the depths of why Jonah said no (at first), and follow to the NT, to see why the apostles said yes – even to the death. We look forward to learning from Jonah, understanding Nahum and recognizing the Holy Spirit’s effect in the lives of those spreading the Gospel in Acts.
Thursday evenings will be old-fashioned friendships and conversations on new-fashioned technology of video conference. Full-time jobs, distance, time zones and health issues don’t have to stop iron from sharpening iron with meaningful conversations via the web. Whether you are a working woman local to Cary, at a distance or have other reasons prohibiting your attending Wednesday’s live meetings, a Thursday evening Zoom discussion group is the perfect option to be Women of Wisdom (WOW!). Surely by the end of the year, we will “virtually” be sisters.
If cost prevents you from studying with us, email MTerrell@shepherds.org to ask about the provided scholarship funds.
Homework for class: 2.5 hours/week
