Wednesday Evening Study
The Gospel of John
Wednesdays / 6:30-8:00 PM / September 14th - April 26th
Come with us to the Gospel of John as Jesus instructs His disciples the night before His crucifixion and discover valuable truths concerning the Holy Spirit, peace, fruitfulness, and joy. Then find comfort and direction as Jesus intercedes on behalf of all believers (including us) in His “high priestly” prayer. Watch as Jesus willingly lays down His life as He is betrayed in the garden of Gethsemane and then arrested. See anew the trials before Annas, Caiaphas, and Pilate and remember the unjustified humiliation Jesus endured at the hands of sinful men on our account. Abide in the vine with us this semester as we study John 14:16-18:40 and bear much fruit for His glory!
In anticipation of Easter, prepare your heart by studying the final chapters of the Gospel of John with us. Remember as the crowd cries out, “Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!” and Pilate hands Jesus over to be crucified. Review the details of Jesus’ crucifixion as “The King of the Jews” and marvel at His last words recorded by John, the Gospel writer. Rejoice with Mary Magdalene, Peter, and John as they discover an empty tomb and later the disciples witness the risen Christ. Come find renewed encouragement and hope for the future as we rehearse the details of our Savior’s death and resurrection in John 19-21. He is risen! He is risen, indeed!
